Over dinner tonight, Dad made up a few haikus. Nigel was generally unimpressed, mainly because he was not happy about being asked to eat a vegetable with dinner, but Dad thought they were journal-worthy.


Mountains of green spheres
Held still by clusters of ice
Nigel likes peas cold


Anticipation
Dog's tail is wagging
Perhaps he wants to go out?
No, just my dinner


Skinny Pop Popcorn
Drenched in buttery goodness
Not skinny now, eh?


Dinnertime revolt
No one wants to eat their peas
