2010-03-07: Muffins and the Drum Bus

Mom came home from work in the morning and went to sleep soon afterward. Dad and Nigel played in the toy room with Rokenbok toys, then went to church together. At church, there was a magician for the older kids, but the pre-schoolers played in their classroom through most of the service. Nigel has been reading "If You Give a Moose a Muffin" a lot lately ("muhhin"), and finally got to eat a muffin during snack time at church. He recognized it immediately. At the end of the service, the pre-schoolers went outside to the Drum Bus, where there was a drum for each child, and an instructor led everyone in drumming games. Nigel seemed to have as much fun driving the bus and saying "beep, beep" as he did drumming, which took a little bit of time for him to get used to, but he certainly did some great drumming once he got the idea. Nigel loves to point out wheels on vehicles (steering or otherwise), and said "wheel" for Grandpa while he was over helping Dad.

2010-03-06: Shark and bike

Nigel woke up very happy at 6:30, playing in his crib for several minutes by himself. He started calling out "shark," and Dad went in to bring the shark to him, and to get him up. They looked at sandals for Nigel, then took the train downtown to Discovery Gateway, a children's museum. Nigel played with many different things, but liked the vehicles the best. Train home, then Dad went for a ride on Brandon's (Blaire) bullet bike. Nigel said "bike," pointing at Dad's bicycle in the garage. The night before (2010-03-05), Nigel learned to say "clock".

2009-12-20: Gears toy

The family went to dinner at Grammy's today.

Nigel put the gears back on his turning gears toy by himself.

Nigel got sick, and so did KariAnn.

2009-11-22: Driving cars

Nigel makes car noises while driving cars around (burrrrrrrrrrr). Also, he won't push a car that is upside-down, but will turn it back over onto its wheels before continuing.

Putting on clothes

Nigel has always been very helpful in taking off and putting on clothes. He now will trade items from one hand to the other when removing his arms from sleeves.

2009-10-06

Hi Dad-

I just wanted to send you a note to tell you about my day. After you left for work I took a long nap for about 1 hour in my crib. When I woke up I yelled for mom. I think it is lots of fun to see how fast she runs up the stairs to get me - but don't tell her. It might ruin the game. After that we went to get some food for Shadie. I like to look at the birds in that store. There were not any dogs getting haircuts today. Next we went to another store and Mom made me try on coats. They are really puffy and it is hard to put my arms down. Mom sure makes me do a lot of shopping. After that it was time for lunch. I had grilled cheese and pears. The pears are kind of squishy. I like the grilled cheese better but they are both okay. I think now I am going to go play with my pooh table for a while. Have fun at work and school! I will see you in the morning!

Love
Nigel
