2012-04-17: Liberty Park with Grandpa

This evening, just after dinner, Nigel started playing with Mom's phone. Soon enough, he had managed to call Grandpa, and Mom and Dad heard the two of them talking. Nigel said the family was going to the park for a bike ride, and asked Grandpa if he would like to come. The bike ride idea was a surprise to Mom and Dad, as this was the first they had heard of it. Grandpa said he would like that, particularly seeing how he, Dad and Nigel had tried to go for a bike ride on Sunday, but had no success due to two flat tires and one improper tire repair.

Mom and Dad decided they should go through with the ride, as Nigel was clearly very interested. At the park, Grandpa said Nigel seemed so grown-up on the phone, and that was very fun for him.

Mom and Dad used their inline skates, Nigel rode his yellow bike, and Grandpa walked with Tiki over to the playground for a while. Nigel wandered over to the swings, and another mom put him on one of the swing chairs and started pushing him. Everyone made their way over, and Mom and Dad started talking with them about run bikes. They had a boy who was just barely two years old, and they all arranged for him to try the bike.

Nigel is so fast on his bike now! He is faster than a person walking casually, and loves coasting, which he tries to do frequently. Mom and Dad have been wondering when to try to get him on a bike with pedals (which Nigel has been asking about).
