Nick found an old rotary phone laying around the house, and got it out to play with. He showed Nigel how to dial, and they each called their mother's cell phone. Kelly answered Nigel's call, and asked whom was calling. Nigel replied, "Mom, it's me, Nigel, your son."

2012-12-19: Rotary Phone
Nigel went to school briefly today with one of the neighbor kids, Nick (Juele and Billy's son). Nick, who is in 4th grade, was assigned to read a book to a younger child. Nigel sat in a chair next to Nick while he read a Christmas book. Nick's reading was quite smooth, with good intonation, and Nigel paid very good attention to the story, as he always does to stories. After the book, Nigel and Dad got to play with the big kids on the playground, then they each got a frosted doughnut as a treat.
After that, everyone agreed to meet back at Juele's house so the kids could play for a bit. Nigel and Dad stopped for gas on the way, and picked the slowest gas pump Dad had ever used. Ten minutes into pumping, Dad cut it off - at only nine gallons!
